It's like I am watching but not understanding anything. When it was a game so it's not a game anymore. But the his real world friend characters are here. What's going on?

Dead Pool • 2 years ago

felt the same like real 30 years or in game? How could in game changes ie: taste and feeling be added as a update without the tech. He fell asleep for 30 years while changing outfits? Anyways confused aswell

What is this Log Horizon

1UpEXP • 1 year ago

Yeah, the manga and LN do a much better job explaining things. Seems like the anime is going for the disappointing rush job route

Mæx Wellington • 9 months ago

I know this is old but... From what I gathered, they were isekaied into the game much like Log Horizon, but at different times. It seems that Danbulf was one of the first to be taken and showed back up 30 years later, while Solomon might have been one of the lasts and reappeared almost immediately.

I guess I might have gotten it because I relate to the isekai aspect though looking at is in the guise of Log Horizon and SAO.

Gavin X isekai • 2 years ago

The most poorly executed plot I have ever seen. Also how is the gender change thing even important to the plot in anyway. No qualtity information or explanations , I can't tell what's going on, did he quit the game and returned after 30 years in real world time to see the game is completely different? Maybe time moves faster in-game and he only left the game for a month or a year and returned to the game to see 30 years had passed and it's more realistic
I have no hope for this, I will watch for a few more episodes then abandon.

Mæx Wellington • 9 months ago

It sounds more like they were isekaied as what happened in Log Horizon, but were taken/brought back at different times. Danbulf was one of the first taken and brought back 30 years later. That said, the fact they can urinate, taste, and smell means that this is no longer just a game.

As for the gender change, that's the gimmick of this isekai "Brought into a game world, but gender bent"

Dragonmoth • 2 years ago

What's so hard to understand? It's super simple, also it was explaned in the episode... MC used an item to make "mira" but fell asleep before he could revert what he did, when he woke up the game had become real and 30 years had passed. The gender change is a problem for MC because who would think a young girl is a legend called "the one man army".

Pakray M • 1 year ago

So; were they isekaied?
How is it that this is NOT a game anymore?

Mæx Wellington • 9 months ago

yes. Their souls are trapped into a world created by the game, if you will. The player's functions still work, but they are physically in this game.

Pakray M • 9 months ago

I guess after watching
Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta
I could suspend my disbelief to watch anything now.

Mæx Wellington • 9 months ago

I just finished that one. It was... interesting. I appreciate it for what it is, but it's definitely a shojo designed after a fashion RPG/Dating Sim...

Pakray M • 9 months ago

Its message is absurd. Through luck, a super loser can become a super model/super hero.
If the MC wouldn't have inherited the house; he was going to be bullied for ever.
Also; the streets there are so dangerous. Between biker gangs, knife wielding thugs and BEARS, you must be super human to survive.
lol

Mæx Wellington • 9 months ago

I called it a shojo for a reason. The dude is a Mary Sue, the focus is on beauty and fashion, and between the MC's Ugly Duckling Syndrome and his massive strength, it screams out female fantasy. Not to mention the fashion director that belongs in a Barbie movie.

For a bit more clarification, there's a philosophy I keep hearing about which explains why women are super into books like Twilight and werewolf eroticas: It serves as a sort of literary porn where the gentleness of a maiden's heart tames the wild, uncontrollable nature of male perfection, but in a way where the beast is still an agent of chaos for everyone else but the lucky maiden. One could even say the same thing for their attraction to bad boys given that they want them abusive and violent towards the world but sweet and delicate to only them.

If we look at Cheat Skill in the same light, we have the MC who's tall, dark, handsome, and dangerous the same as werewolves in those eroticas, his complex gives him some sort of vulnerability, and his fat both served as the reason why everyone but Kaori thought he was the monster and is then removed to grant her social validation in taming this wild beast. As mentioned, Kaori is the female protagonist who is the first one to see Yuya's tender side and the only one he's permitted in the deepest part of his heart closet. You also have the other women falling for him which serves as more social validation and serves to uplift how special Kaori is to be granted such special treatment, and his siblings were another way to make Kaori stand out by seeing the value in Yuya over them.
On the other hand, we do have the biker gang, the bear, the ball, and shopping mall (as you mentioned) which all serve as dangerous obstacles (or moments of violence) for Yuya to use his beastial instincts and badassery to protect the maiden... the very reason eroticas feature werewolves.

Well put Wellington. Although in romance stories; there are usually a few men that all fight for the attention of the main woman character's attention, this is in fact a Shoujo disguised as harem to improve the marketability of this anime.
I wish they had taken their time with the plot and their world building so the MC didn't have to be this omnipotent character, but I guess if you only have 13 episodes to tell the whole story, quality will suffer a bit.

Mæx Wellington • 9 months ago

Thanks, though I think his omnipotence is the curse of the werewolf. The love interest (MC) needs to be wild, untamed, and strong. In the erotica, they symbolize this with a werewolf as it amplifies all these traits above the rest, and it becomes a vital aspect because women want to envision themselves with the best man... Though this also means that the love interest is cursed to perform feats no other man can from the get-go. And you are right that they used a harem to partly guise a shoujo, but in this case, it works to their favour narratively as well: Not only does it give an alure for men, but it also serves to pre-vet Yuya as "the man all women want" (which is why men get hit on much more often with a wedding ring than without).

That said, there's a saying that nobody reads an errotica for the in-depth plot and world building. And often men find it lacking the way you mentioned... Just remember not to mention that about your S.O's novels...

there's one missing on that APC (armored personnel carrier) or wheeled AFV.(Armored Fight Vehicle ) more like Light Armor Reconnaissance to me. Independent Wheel suspension, for smooth ride, no speed bump sensation.

If I were to hazard a guess due to the changes in the world caused enough chaos that an agreement was settled between the kingdoms to sort things out them extended as a new threat (probably a greater demon/ demon lord) set a spell banishing the wise men and set an ultimatum since it’s power would be growing that by this time they should either submit or perish

This is entirely based on my understanding of isekai as a genre though and have not interactive with anything from beyond this point

Mæx Wellington • 9 months ago

Agreed. I believe it is a peace treaty of 30 years (or so) that happened 1 year after the initial conversion so that everyone can understand what's going on, and possibly share intel on new developments... such as the demon crystal becoming tangible.

My guess is that people started killing one another to see if there's a respawn.
